Whoever came up with the idea of brunch is an absolute genius. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. You don’t know me but you have given me the opportunity of looking forward to joy and pleasure every weekend.
Breakfast is one of those versatile foods, there are so many options that you can explore at any time on any given day. There is just that something about the weekend brunch. It’s what makes it special, having something to look forward to after a full work week, where you are probably too busy with the daily nuances to just stop, cook and eat a laid out meal at noon. It’s the fact there is usually no hurry afterward, and all you have to do is cozy up on the couch with a cuppa. It’s the process where you can head into your happy place, making full use of the silence and serenity around you as you prepare a delicious meal. It’s the joy of a shared experience with your friends and family. It’s the anticipation that comes from eagerly looking around the diner as you’re waiting for your food to arrive. It’s what you make it to be.
Brunch is not a chore; rather it’s a luxury where all you need is some eggs and bread and coffee. A luxury that anyone can afford. It can be a sweet or savory luxury. Or even a combination (that’s my favorite).
